Today was another road trip...We took a long drive up north to search out some more covered bridges. On the way back we found ourselves in Mechanicville and decided to stop for a late lunch.
We choose Bubbles Diner.

Upon walking in we were told to sit anywhere. It was around 3pm so the restaurant was not busy, we were in between the lunch and dinner rush. We choose a window booth that was roomy and cozy at the same time.
Our waitress came right over, introduced herself and handed us the menus. She also took our drink order and brought right away. After much deliberation we ordered, our waitress was very helpful and patient. I ordered a grilled Swiss cheese on Italian toast with a side of fries. My sis got a sliced pork sandwich on Italian toast with a side of fries and our friend, Laurie got a tuna melt with American cheese on wheat with a side of gravy fries.
The food was delicious! The sandwich was crunch and buttery! The fries were steak fries, cooked exactly the way I love them, crispy not soggy. My sis gave me her tomato and I put it in my sandwich. The prices were very reasonable too! My whole meal was $3.75 (not including the coffee)!
Then we decided to have dessert. I ordered a piece of apple pie. Laurie got the Brownie Delight. The pie was good, it came covered with whip creme. The crust was not homemade but overall it was tasty.
The Brownie Delight was enormous, well worth the $6.00! It would be a perfect treat for a date night or a group of friends. We were all joking that it came in a boat shaped bowl that was Titanic sized! It must have had 3 or 4 brownies on the bottom and it was covered with soft serve chocolate ice cream, whip cream and 4 cherries! It was too big to finish even with the three of us eating it.
So the sweet waitress got the lid for the bowl and we took it home. This is what it looked like right before we covered it up to take it home. (I forgot to take a photo when it arrived at the table)
We did make a quick stop into the bathroom. The toilet seat in my stall was really wobbly but overall it was well stocked and clean.
If I were to rate this Diner, I would give it a 4 out of 5. (5 being the best and 1 being the worst)
